About Me
Hello and Welcome!
My name is Katie! I am a stay at home mom to 5 children and reading is my favorite hobby (especially fantasy novels.) I am a convert to catholicism and have been home in the Catholic Church for over 10 years! I started this blog to review books that I have read and share whether or not I think they would be appropriate for a wider audience. Since I am reviewing YA novels, generally the age recommendation starts at teen and above. I have three categories based off of USCCB Ratings:
A - General Patronage
Books in this category contain material suitable for a larger audience that are free of morally objectionable content. Sadly, in this day and age, rarely do new YA releases fall into this category.
L - Limited Audience
It is generally used for those quality book that include more challenging material in terms of violence, sexual content (including nudity), language or moral dilemmas, but are still worthy of consideration by mature viewers well-grounded in their faith and open to the portrayal of gritty subject matter.
O - Morally Offensive
This classification is applied to books that deny the existence of God, ridicule religious faith or are otherwise sacrilegious. Books that directly contradict Catholic moral teaching also fall under this category.
